Standard 1: Visionary Leadership. Technology Coaches inspire and participate in the development and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive integration of technology to promote excellence and support transformational change throughout the instructional environment.
I believe I am a "bottoms up" leader, so I tend to be someone who encourages change through my actions and examples. To develop competence in this standard, I have tried to focus on ways that I can take a stronger leadership role in my school community. |
To demonstrate proficiency in this standard, I have focused on subsection c which states:
c. Advocate for policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school and district technology plans and guidelines
Being a Coach: As a professional, I typically encourage change through my actions and more informal means. As I develop my competence in this standard, I would like to be more vocal and purposeful in the ways I encourage technology use at my school. For instance, I plan to continue to develop my experience with technology by attending different workshops, including those at the California Mathematics Conference in Palm Springs. By gaining more knowledge about technology resources, I believe that I can coach my colleagues on ways to utilize more technology as a way of improving our skill sets as educators.
